"Whenever people talk to me about the weather, I always feel certain that they mean something else." – Oscar Wilde
"Rain. Not just an ordinary one, but an unforgiving rain. I am so relieved it didn't rain yesterday."
(Yoko Ogawa’s Unwritten Pages)
For the past few decades, Keelung, known as the "Rain City" due to its highest number of rainy days in Taiwan, still experiences rain on nearly half of its days, even though climate change has shifted this title to Su'ao in Yilan.
It was raining heavily the day of the site visit. Zhengbin Hall is located at the corner of the harbor and road, neighboring ships and vehicles, schools of fish and crowds, waves and hills.
The rain, accompanied by the wind, soaked everything, spreading drops and ripples, blurring the boundaries of things. Everything softened, rippled, and blended together. The fading light of vision, and the rain in the distance, blurred the horizon of sea and sky, as if nothing had happened.
